What happens when a plan changes — and how paid seats will work when they arrive.

Draft for review. This document describes how YOUDOWN actually works and is written to be readable, not to be final. It has not been reviewed by counsel — have a lawyer licensed in Florida check it before launch.
YOUDOWN doesn't currently take payment for seats, so there's usually nothing to refund. Where a moment has a real-world cost — a court fee, a dinner bill, a share of a charter — you settle it directly with the host, in person. We don't hold that money, so we can't return it.
What we do handle is the seat itself, and the expectations around it.
You can withdraw from a moment any time before it starts, from the Plan tab. Two things happen:
Withdrawing isn't held against you. Withdrawing four hours before, repeatedly, is — the app tracks the pattern, not the individual event.
Everyone confirmed is notified straight away with the host's reason. The moment leaves your Plan tab and the app surfaces similar moments nearby, because a cleared Saturday is the actual problem.
If you'd already spent money on the host's instructions — a court booking in your name, a non-refundable reservation — that's between you and the host. Tell us if a host is repeatedly cancelling on people; we act on it.
Hosts record attendance after each moment. Missing a moment you were confirmed for, without withdrawing, counts as a no-show.
One is nothing. A pattern limits which moments you can apply to, and enough of them closes hosting access. This is the only enforcement mechanism a free marketplace has, so we use it.
Moments AI subscriptions and boosts are sold through the App Store and Google Play, and refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their policies, not by us — we can't issue them directly. Both accept requests through your purchase history.
Cancel a subscription any time in your store settings. It runs to the end of the period you've paid for; we don't pro-rate.
A boost that failed to run because of an outage on our side is our problem — write to support@youdown.app and we'll make it right.
We plan to let hosts charge for seats. When that happens this policy will be updated and you'll be told before the change takes effect. The intended shape:
